5 Things You Can Do To Be Consistent

Having trouble being consistent? Here are some tips to help.

To understand how we can be consistent, let’s take a look at what does consistency actually means. It is the act to be continually conforming to the set of principles; to be disciplined. Newton’s first law states that,

If a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by an external force.

This statement affirms that we are already consistent in our current state. In actuality, the focus is not consistency per se, but to adopt a new consistency pattern based on our embark.

In the context of entrepreneurship, it is a constant struggle to have this new consistency. Now, there is a goal in mind. Therefore, a fresh, suitable set of actions is vital to achieving it.

We have to do the things we haven’t done before to achieve the things we have never had.

Write Down Your (actionable) Goals.

Rome was not built in a day.

Empires were built with bricks and mortars by its people and the sweats on their backs. It is not easy; things worth having are usually aren’t.

So in reaching your ultimate goal, write down the steps to get there. They can be the list of things you can do for the day, aims of the week, the targets to reach by the end of the month, or your hope for the year.

Scale it with time; the one being more actionable are done the soonest. You will find that your goals are not that far, after all.

Anticipate “The Valley of Despair”

The Valley of Despair: mistakes and failures will happen. It is not whether ‘if it happens’, or ‘maybe it will happen’. Most of the time, it definitely will happen. And it will happen when you least expect it; when you’re confident and thought that everything is going smooth. So prepare yourself.

Design contingency plans for worst-case scenarios. Those who get through it are those who believe they ‘can’ get through it, even after all the odds. Don’t let this stop your consistency.

Your success might be, just around the corner.

Be Proactive, Not Reactive.

What is the difference between being proactive and reactive? Control. On any situation, there are always two sides of a coin. Entrepreneurship is the same. It is draining, it can bring you down, and you can quit.

Or you can respond by thinking about how to go about it. Keep your focus to what you wanted, even if you’re feeling restrained. Accept that you are human for feeling that way, but being an entrepreneur, find out the best route at the same time.

Remember, you can only grow when you’re out of your comfort zone.

Ask For Help

The struggle as an entrepreneur is that you have to be learning all the time. If you’re not, you will be left behind. And sometimes, not all the answers can be found by a Google search. So ask for help. Get in touch with the community or professionals in the industry.

Learn from them. There might be a better type of routine you can follow.

Be Around Positive People

Motivation can sometimes be arduous to find. So surround yourself with motivated people. They can elevate you and push you to reach your consistency and the target you hope to achieve.

Please stay away from negative relationships as it will drain you even further and increase your risk of failing. It is by no means, cutting ties with them, as they can be your long-time friends or colleagues. But spend more of your time with people that gives a positive vibe so you can have the drive you need.

Take Care Of Your Health.

Your mental and physical functions should be in optimal conditions to have your desired consistency. Naturally, you would need to eat well, have an exercise routine and a proper resting period to have a healthy mind and body.

Have supplements also to increase your mental capabilities. Having a healthy body can significantly provide a better fortitude to handle the challenges of entrepreneurship.
